Terms of Service

Welcome to MedQBank. By creating an account or using this service, you agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use MedQBank.

1. Independent Student Project

MedQBank is an independent, student-created project. It is notaffiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or officially connected to the University of Western Australia (UWA), its Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, or any of its departments, staff, or representatives. The use of “UWA” in this tool is solely to describe the intended audience and does not imply any official relationship.

2. No Warranty — “As Is” Provision

MedQBank is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. The creator makes no representations or warranties regarding:

  • The accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any content
  • The suitability of the tool for any particular purpose
  • The availability or uninterrupted operation of the service
  • The absence of errors in questions, answers, explanations, or any other material

3. AI-Generated Content Disclosure

Some content within MedQBank — including questions, answer explanations, flashcards, mnemonics, and study materials — has been generated or assisted by artificial intelligence (AI). While reasonable efforts have been made to verify the accuracy of this content against authoritative medical sources, AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or outdated information. Users must independently verify all information before relying on it for academic purposes.

4. Not a Substitute for Official Study Materials

MedQBank is intended as a supplementary study aid only. It is not a substitute for:

  • Attending lectures or tutorials
  • Official UWA course materials, textbooks, and learning resources
  • Guidance from academic staff, tutors, or mentors
  • Independent study and critical thinking

You should always treat official university materials as your primary source of truth.

5. User Responsibility

By using MedQBank, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • You are solely responsible for your own academic performance and outcomes
  • You will not rely exclusively on MedQBank for exam preparation
  • You will independently verify information presented in this tool against authoritative sources
  • Your use of this tool is entirely voluntary and at your own risk
  • You will use MedQBank in compliance with UWA’s academic integrity policies and code of conduct

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the creator of MedQBank shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from or in any way connected with:

  • Your use of, or inability to use, MedQBank
  • Any errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in the content
  • Any academic outcomes, including but not limited to exam results, grades, course failures, or academic standing
  • Any decisions made based on information provided by this tool
  • Any interruption or cessation of the service

7. Content Derived from Lecture Material

Some content within MedQBank is derived from or inspired by lecture material for educational purposes under the fair dealing provisions (Section 40) of the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth). This material has been substantially transformed into original question-and-answer formats and study aids. All such content is provided for personal, non-commercial educational use only.

8. Content Redistribution Prohibited

You must not:

  • Download, scrape, or systematically extract content from MedQBank
  • Copy, redistribute, or share questions, flashcards, explanations, or other content outside of the platform
  • Upload MedQBank content to other platforms, file-sharing services, or social media
  • Use MedQBank content for any commercial purpose

This restriction exists to protect both the intellectual property of the creator and the copyright in any lecture-derived material. Violation of this clause may result in immediate account termination.

9. Account and Access

Access to MedQBank is restricted to users with valid UWA email addresses. The creator reserves the right to:

  • Terminate or suspend any account at any time, for any reason, without prior notice
  • Modify, limit, or discontinue any feature or the entire service at any time
  • Remove or modify any content without prior notice

10. Right to Modify or Discontinue

MedQBank is maintained on a voluntary basis. The creator reserves the right to modify these terms, the service, or to discontinue MedQBank entirely at any time without prior notice or liability. Changes to these terms will be posted on this page with an updated date. Your continued use of MedQBank after any changes to these terms constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. If you do not agree with the updated terms, you must stop using MedQBank.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the creator of MedQBank from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the service or your violation of these terms.

12. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Western Australia, Australia.

13. Acceptance

By creating an account on MedQBank, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service, the Privacy Policy, and the Academic Disclaimer.
